Make Money While You Sleep: Licensing Art for Royalties
Imagine products with your images selling in retail stores. Imagine earning royalties on a single image over and over again. Learn about the opportunities of licensing art to manufacturers and earning royalties. This seminar provides an overview of how the business works. Topics include art themes and styles in demand, product categories, portfolio requirements, how to find and submit to licensees, copyrights, contracts, and working with agents. Also presented are a few case studies of successful licensed artists as well as how to get started.
This workshop will be taught by artist Debra Valencia. Since 2007, Debra Valencia has licensed her artwork to over 50 manufacturers for products including fabric, stationery, bedding, dinnerware, fashion accessories and more. These partnerships have resulted in millions of dollars of retail sales and six figure royalties. Debra has 20 years experience teaching design and business courses at Otis College of Art + Design and Art Center College of Design. She has lectured at universities, colleges and professional events nationwide.
Workshop is limited to 25 people, so please consider signing up early as we reached capacity for the last event. Your name will be on list at door once you purchase ticket -- bringing confirmation is not necessary.
Parking is available at the Trader Joe's lot at Venice & Culver and the lot at Cardiff & Culver where it's free for the first 45 minutes and $1 per 30 minutes thereafter.
