Saturday, June 22, 10am - Noon, Collage Workshop
This workshop will be taught by artist Amy Smith whose style (which includes collaged magazine pieces and hand-cut stencils) has catapulted her into the middle of Los Angeles' Contemporary Art Scene.
During this workshop, Amy will take you step by step through the collaging process:
• Color Theory
• What to use and what to avoid
• Wheat paste vs. acrylic mediums
• Textured vs. flat
• Photo to stencil
• Paper vs. reusable
• Seal and final touches
During the class, you'll create a 11" x 14" piece on paper using materials and a choice of stencils that Amy provides.
Workshop is limited to 14 people, so please consider signing up early. Your name will be on list at door once you purchase ticket -- bringing confirmation is not necessary.
Parking is available at the Trader Joe's lot at Venice & Culver and the lot at Cardiff & Culver where it's free for the first 45 minutes and $1 per 30 minutes thereafter.
All events at The Whole 9 Gallery are family friendly and help to fund the life-changing work of our non-profit, The Peace Project.
